Comic-Con 2010: Los Premios Eisner

Sabías que la industria de los comics tiene su ceremonia de premios, así como los Oscares? Así es, los Premios Eisner son para los comics lo que los Pullitzers son para el periodismo o los Oscares para el film. Su nombre, es en honor a Will Eisner, pionero de este medio. Estos galardones incluyen el Galardon Bill Finger por Logros en la Escritura, conocido entre los artistas como “el Dedo” (The Finger), en honor a Bill Finger (co-creador de Batman y el Guasón, junto a Bob Kane), el Galardón del Espíritu de Will Eisner a los Vendedores de Comics, el Galardón Russ Mannin para Artistas Emergentes y el Galardón Humanitario Bob Clampett.

Este año, los premios Eisner se encuentran en su duodécima entrega… se llevaron a cabo en el salón Indigo del Hotel Hilton Bayfront, bajo el tema “Fiesta de Comics”.

Los premios fueron presentados por Bill Morrison, de BONGO Comics (The Simpsons) y el actor de voz Maurice LaMarche (Pinky & Cerebro) en capacidad de Maestros de Ceremonia, junto a los actores Robert Ben Garant (Reno 911, Balls of Fury), Phil LaMarr (Futurama, Family Guy, MadTV),  Thomas Jane; los nominados C. Tyler, Laurie Sandell, Peter Bagge y James Robinson; e invitados especiales del Comic Con Berkeley Breathed, Chris Claremont, Milo Manara, Jillian Tamaki, and James Sturm.

El Galardon del Espiritu de Will Eisner a los Vendedores de Comics fue otorgado a The Vault of Midnight, en Ann Arbor Michigan.

Sergio Aragonés presento a los inducidos al Salon de la Fama: Dick Giordano, Mort Weisinger, Michael Kaluta, Steve Gerber, Burne Hogarth y Bob Montana.

Finalmente, “El Dedo” se lo llevaron Otto Binder y Gary Friedrich en reconocimiento por sus aportes, como escritores, al medio.  Otto es el creador de SuperGirl, la Ciudad Embotellada de Kandor y escribio muchas de las mejores historias protagonizadas por Bizarro; mientras que Gary creo al Ghost Rider, siendo parte del Bullpen editorial de Marvel en los años 60.
